Back to School Necessities
It's about the time college kids are getting angsty all around. Move in is approaching, or already in progress, and all that's on the mind is school supplies, apartment needs, and everything in between. I myself am about to dive into my junior year of college, and have been doing a lot of thinking about the raw necessities I need to start this school year right. From notebooks to study snacks to apartment decor, here is my list of recommendations of what to get your hands on to be prepared for back to school.
School Supplies
First up on the list, pens. I am all about being extra with notes, doodling and going all out on every page. My fave pens to add fun color to notes are Stabilo's. I have this pack by Stabilo and literally take it everywhere with me. They are my holy grail pens, and my notes flourish because of them.
Next up, notebooks. I am absolutely obsessed with notebooks, journals, anything paper. I find myself constantly acquiring them, stacks just building on my bookshelves. The common brand I seem to be picking up are notebooks by Fringe. The simplistic designs this company produces always entice me, and the affordable prices I find them for force me into snagging them. You have to check out this brand if you love notebooks as much as I do.
Last for school supplies, a true necessity: the planner. If you haven't been utilizing and relying on a planner to keep you in check, it's time. Pouring your schedule, priorities, and goals into one organized outlet is so productive and helpful for your day-to-day success. The planner I chose to go with this school year is a planner by Eccolo. It's colorful, fun, and uplifting. I love the layout and the graphics including. It even has tons of stickers for keeping your calendar up-to-date and trendy.
Brain Fuel
It is so important to eat well while at college. Keeping your body and mind healthy seems to not be a popular priority for a lot of college students, but definitely needs to be on the radar.
One of my favorite things to have for a breakfast-on-the-go or a snack in-between meals is a Larabar. These bars are totally raw, totally vegan, and totally natural. They are only good stuff, and taste just as amazing. I swear, these healthy bars taste like any other sugary treat. They have been my saving grace when I know I'm going to be out of the house for a while, and won't have time for a real meal.
Other awesome things to keep in your kitchen are kale and quinoa. I am constantly munching on these brain fuels to keep me protein-packed and healthy. If you see some awesome kale or quinoa products in your local grocery store, definitely snag it. Tasty and healthy, what could be better?
Home Stuff
Keeping your new place trendy and functional while in school may sound tough, but can be fun and simple. There are some awesome duel-functioning products that look great and are useful at the same time. Here's what you need for your space this school year.
This white board from Target. I found this baby for only $9.99. It's functional and cute, just how we like it. The marbel and gold frame make it a great accent piece for any room, and you can write reminders on it. I'm crazy about this decor, and the price tag.
Something I have been loving for a while now are Kantha quilts. These amazing, unique beauties are hand-made in India out of recycled saris. No two are the same, and each side is a complete different print than the other. I have used mine as a throw blanket, tapestry, and this upcoming year I'm using a Kantha quilt for my comforter. I highly recommend getting your very own. They are so fun and beautiful, and really liven up any living space, giving off its own individual charm.
